VA Launches Campaign to Highlight Reforms in Veteran Healthcare

If you’ve noticed a recent increase in news stories about the VA, you’re not alone. This is part of a campaign on the VA’s behalf to intentionally reach out nationwide and highlight the reforms the agency has made in the quality of veteran healthcare.

The local and regional VA entities – medical offices, clinics and even cemeteries – have been instructed by their national office to reach out to media outlets in their areas to send positive messages and highlight improvements and accomplishments in their specific facilities.

As we’ve discussed in the past, the US Department of Veterans Affairs has received a lot of negative press and disappointment expressed by lawmakers regarding various problems. This includes broad issues like budget and wait times across the board and more isolated incidents that many believe reveal flaws in the system.

While new reforms have made some improvements in the quality of healthcare for veterans, there is still a long way to go. Hopefully the VA’s nationwide effort to spread a positive message demonstrates their commitment to giving veterans the care they deserve.
