The VA’s Women Veterans Campaign

The VA is currently in the middle of a campaign to benefit female veterans, called Women Veterans: Celebrating Our Stories of Service. To further this effort, the VA planned events in five separate locations across the nation, already sending VA representatives to St. Petersburg, Florida, on June 12 and to San Diego on July 10.

At these events, female veterans have the opportunity to learn more about the different options available through their local VA chapters to serve and support them. The next events are slated for Houston on August 7, Minneapolis/St. Paul on September 14 and Washington D.C. on September 22.

As the number of women in the Armed Forces increases, the scope of the VA’s services is changing, too. They are adapting from care and services historically tailored to men so they can meet the needs of the approximately two million veterans who are female as that percentage continues to climb.

The Women Veterans initiative and its nationwide events provide great chances for female veterans to ensure they aren’t missing any opportunities or services that could be useful for them.
