VA Releases Latest Patient Access Data Figures

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recently released updated patient access data figures concerning pending wait times and completed appointments at their VA healthcare facilities after a nationwide audit.

According to the website, the audit report includes “regularly updated patient access data…for all VA Medical Centers and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics including average wait times, number of patients waiting for a scheduled appointment and number of patients that cannot be scheduled for an appointment in 90 days or less.”

The nationwide audit intends to identify areas the VA infrastructure can improve as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to decrease wait times, improve quality of care and be as efficient as possible.

You can view the figures for your local facility and see how it compares to others across the nation by visiting www.va.gov/health/access-audit.asp.
