Mrs. Winter was shocked, surprised and honored when her name was announced, and says her love of children inspired her to become a teacher in 1976. Through all of her years of teaching, she’s learned that the profession requires patience, determination and flexibility. The field is always changing.
But its one that comes with tremendous rewards. Mrs. Winter enjoys seeing the light of realization turn on in a student’s eye, whether she can tell the difference her teaching has made immediately or gradually in the long run.
