Joe Fortuno

Over his years at the firm, he has grown as a person professionally and personally with the help of leadership and his fellow team members. Joe states, “Working here has helped me strive for things that 10 years ago I thought were unattainable.”

Joe was originally born in the Philippine Islands but grew up in Virginia. Joe’s father was in the Navy, so his family moved around quite a bit. Joe went to Marshall University for a degree in education, which explains why he is so excellent at educating and training team members. He’s also working to earn an advanced degree in Psychology to be able to assist veterans further. Joe recently relocated to North Carolina to enjoy the beautiful beaches with his Shiba Inu puppy. In his spare time, Joe devotes his time to his puppy – walking, training, and cleaning the puppy messes he creates. Fun fact: Joe named his puppy Tenshi (Angel in Japanese), which is fitting since Shiba Inus originate from Japan.

Not only is Joe amazing with fellow team members – he’s incredible with our veteran clients as well. This comes from personal experience. Joe spent 8 years active duty as a Combat Engineer where he deployed to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once. He also served 14 years with the WV National Guard as both a Combat Engineer and Construction Supervisor. Joe’s military experience has helped him with firsthand knowledge of what the veterans go through, which helps him build relationships with fellow veteran clients.
