A graduate of Roger Williams University School of Law, Heather also holds a degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Originally from Maine, where she attended Kents Hill School, Heather now calls Evans, West Virginia home. Her commitment to Veterans is inspired in part by her grandfather, Randolph Backman, who served in the U.S. Navy working in ship boiler rooms and singing in the Navy choir. She keeps his picture and dog tags on her desk as a daily reminder of her purpose.
