Stress Reduction and Mental Health for Veterans

Here at Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law, we support Veterans who are filing disability claims and are in need of ongoing healthcare. But it’s important to recognize that mental health is just as important for Veterans. In fact, the Department of Veterans Affairs suggests seven resources that can help Veterans with mental health needs. We will outline a few here, and you can learn more at the VA’s website.

VA Medical Centers

Around the country, there are 172 VA medical centers that offer same-day service for those in need of primary care treatments or mental health support. And in many cases, Veterans may have access to 24/7 support, as well.

Make the Connection

Make the Connection is an online service that provides Veterans – as well as their friends and families – with information about and possible solutions for the mental health issues with which they may be struggling.

Vet Centers

Vet centers offer community-based counseling services. This includes readjustment counseling, referrals to eligible Veterans and active duty service members, individual, group, marriage counseling and more.
