On a personal note

One thing I always try to do in this blog is make a boring topic interesting. I do this by adding a joke, putting in a fun graphic, or sharing my personal experience…at least form the viewpoint of the firm. I enjoy writing these blogs, and I really love the feedback from our readers. Working with Veterans is truly one of the greatest experiences I have ever had.

Some may read that last line and interpret it as pandering, or that I am trying to sound like a politician. But those who know me will say that I am not the type of fella who panders. I try to be genuine as much as possible. I truly enjoy doing this for a living. However, from time to time, I need a little reminder of how much I like this type of work.

Though I write this blog, and run our social media accounts, it’s not the only thing I do for the firm. I also talk to most of our new clients, and determine edibility for benefits. (When I write, “give me call for a free consultation,” you will likely get to talk to me.) After I schedule an appointment for a Veteran, I often don’t speak to them again. They are assigned a case manager, and those are the individuals who really get to know our clients. I am envious of those individuals because I would really like to get to know our clients better. Occasionally, I will get to know someone quite well during the consultation, and will check back on them.

Recently, someone I spoke to, and felt a connection with when I first started…just as this blog was starting…finally got a favorable decision. I can’t share much of the details, but this Veteran really had a particularly long and difficult case. When I found out he finally got an increase, I was beyond excited. Heather, our lead VA attorney, was also excited. She ran out of her office to tell me as soon as it came through our system.  Later that week I received a thank you from this Veteran, and that meant the world to me. That makes this all worth it.

I really feel grateful to get to work with so many Veterans, and reach thousands each month with this blog. If you are a Veteran who would like to learn more about what we do, or just want to talk, give me a call. 1-877-526-3457
